What is LeadingAge Ohio’s PAC?

The LeadingAge Ohio Political Action Committee (LeadingAge Ohio PAC) supports lawmakers who have demonstrated commitment to and understanding of issues important to older Ohio, their caregivers, and the communities that serve them. LeadingAge Ohio's PAC does not distinguish its support on the basis of political party.

Why Donate to LeadingAge Ohio’s PAC?

While LeadingAge Ohio staff engage with policymakers on a daily basis, PAC donations enable us to extend our reach, ensuring those individuals who are elected to state office are knowledgeable about aging and end of life issues and dedicated to advancing solutions that support Ohioans as they age. 

Advocacy is a three-footed stool, supported by grassroots engagement at the member level, direct lobbying at the state level, and PAC contributions. PAC donations support and complement the other advocacy activities, ensuring that the stool remains standing.

How does LeadingAge Ohio’s PAC Make Decisions?

LeadingAge Ohio’s PAC is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of LeadingAge Ohio members from around the state. Contributions and endorsements are made based on a candidate’s position on issues that are critical to older Ohioans, their families, and their communities. LeadingAge Ohio supports the friends of aging services and difference-makers in public service. 

How is LeadingAge Ohio’s PAC Funded?

LeadingAge Ohio’s PAC is supported solely by individual voluntary contributions. Political Action Committees cannot accept contributions from corporations nor can membership dues be used to support its activities. Contributions may be made in cash, personal checks, money orders or online donations and are NOT tax deductible.

***All contributions are completely voluntary.  You may refuse to contribute without reprisal. Any proposed contribution amounts are merely suggestions; you may choose to contribute more or less or not at all. LeadingAge Ohio PAC will not favor or disadvantage anyone by reason of the amount contributed or the decision not to contribute. All materials prepared and paid for by LeadingAge Ohio PAC.

PAC Fundraising: Important Rules 

• Political Action Committees are prohibited by state law from accepting contributions from corporations. As a result, all contributions must come from individuals, not corporations.  
  
  
• Contributions to Political Action Committees can come in the form of personal checks, money orders, cashier’s checks and/or credit cards. 

• There is no maximum limit on individual contributions to a Political Action Committee
  .
• Contributions must include the individual’s full name, address, employer, amount donated and the date the contribution was received.  

• Political Action Committee contributions are voluntary. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal. 

• Political Action Committee contributions ARE NOT tax deductible.
