New Training Requirement for DEA-Registered Practitioners

NEW Training Requirement for DEA Registered Physicians under the (MATE) Act

How your local osteopathic district is helping you meet the DEA requirement 

Starting June 27, 2023, when renewing your DEA license, you will be required to attest to obtaining eight-hours of training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders. The resource made available by the American Osteopathic Association can be found below or here.  Our continuing medical education is sponsored by the Ohio Osteopathic Association (OOA) / American Osteopathic Association (AOA), and meets the requirements set forth by the DEA as outlined in the letter. 

If you have attended one of our events in the past few years, CAOM's speakers have helped you meet this educational requirement. Additional details below. 

Please be aware not all "free" education available to meet the DEA requirement also provides you CME hours.  Save time and invest in education that meets the DEA requirement AND provides CME credit.  CAOM will be offering (4) four additional CME hours to meet this requirement at our upcoming 59th Annual January Conference - We hope to see you there.
